I don't have it at my fingertips, but there have been several stories this past year about how tough talk about staying until victory and the good vs evil talk is precisely what he wanted.

The fact that both parties are playing right into their hands shows us what a bad spot we're in, because if we leave we're weak and lack the will, and if we stay we're crusaders without the ability to defeat an insurgency in a protracted war.
