WAVE Broadband

Raise your hand if you knew that Wave broadband offers TV service in our area. I just spoke to the manager, who tells me they are considering pulling out of the area because of a low subscription rate. I suggested they try a little marketing push first, since I think most folks here may not be aware of their availability in our community. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, I knew that and in fact, many of the businesses in Sekiu still use Wave cable. Most of them carry it because they have no other choice- satellite equipment set-up costs for multiple rooms is rather prohibitive.

The reason no one is signing up for Wave cable is pretty simple; their programming and signal quality sucks.

Here in the outback, they offer you only 26 channels, some of which are of quite hideous quality. And I am by no means a Seattle Mariner fan, but they don't even offer Fox Sports NW, so the baseball-crazed locals can't get Mariners games.

In other words, they don't care, and they haven't a clue. I'm surprised they have ANY customers left, to be honest. If they made an honest effort to up the number (and quality) of channels here, they'd probably do pretty well. But like any business, it takes just a wee bit of effort to get and hold customers.

I implored them years ago to upgrade their offering, but to no avail. Let 'em rot.

TV? Who needs TV? We have the Clallam Bay Library. Best darn library we've ever dealt with. THE widest selection of videos we've ever seen -- like having our own branch of Scarecrow Video. Now if they'd just get DVD's from Bollywood... :) And the feistiest librarians. Boy, I'd like to see those Patriot Act clowns try to get past our Shush Patrol to find out what we've been reading!

Tell the truth: wouldn't you pay money (pay for view?) to watch some man in black walk in and tell Cheryl to hand over the records? OOOEEE!
