Is anyone really this stupid?

OK. This is not all that difficult. Pay attention. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Period.
Now then, there seems to have been a resurgence in the age-old "Nigerian scam" e-mail crap, so let's make a long story very short:
If you get an e-mail with the word Nigeria in it, delete it. Don't read it, don't save it, don't reply to it. And if you are one of those lonely millions looking for love online, be careful. The bottom-feeders that run these scams are migrating on over to online groups, taking advantage of the weak and the lonely. They'll want you to cash fake money orders for them. Just say no. Trust me: there is no high-ranking Nigerian official on this little spinning blue planet that needs your help- now or ever. Not one.
Conclusion: The words Nigeria and money order are your online enemies. Don't be an idiot. Just hit the delete key. If you don't, you'll get exactly what you deserve- an empty bank account. Please tell me no one in this community is stupid enough to fall for this decade-old scam. Please? Otherwise I might hurt myself laughing...

so im not really gonna get the money for going down there like they said?
Ummm... I'm thinking probably not. ;-)
I'd love to hear the story of how this tired old chestnut got its start. At least with the TKO emails from eBay spoofers, you can understand how they probably started and grew. But Nigerian leaders who need YOUR money orders? hmmm....
